Our read on this product
This kit streamlines the often-fiddly process of grafting plants, aiming to increase success rates for home gardeners. It combines pruning shears with grafting blades, offering interchangeable Ω, U, and V cuts suitable for branches between 5mm and 12mm in diameter. The inclusion of grafting films, rubber bands, and tag cards means you have a complete system for propagating your favorite plants, rather than just a single tool.
While the kit provides a comprehensive set of accessories, including films and rubber bands to aid in the healing process, remember that the blades benefit from lubrication after each use to maintain their sharpness and prevent rust. This attention to maintenance will help ensure the tool remains effective for future grafting projects and prolongs its usability.
What makes it stand out
- Combines pruning and grafting functions in a single tool, unlike dedicated pruning shears or separate grafting knives.
- Offers interchangeable blade types (Ω, U, V cuts) for versatility in grafting different branch types, which basic grafting knives may lack.
- Includes a comprehensive set of accessories like grafting films and various rubber bands, going beyond the core tool found in simpler kits.
When this isn't the right fit
- The blades require lubrication after each use to prevent rust and maintain sharpness.
- This kit is designed for outdoor use in gardens or greenhouses and is not intended for children.
Real-world notes
- The oil on the blades is a protective measure against rust and moisture, not a sign of prior use.
- The kit includes multiple blade types (Ω, U, V cuts) for different grafting needs.
- Grafting films and rubber bands are provided to help secure and protect the grafted areas.
Consider this kit if you're looking to simplify plant propagation with a tool designed for a higher success rate.
