Our read on this product
This keyboard is for the enthusiast who wants their setup to be as unique as their playstyle. The standout feature is the customizable color multimedia display screen, which lets you showcase animated GIFs or real-time system stats, turning your keyboard into a dynamic visual centerpiece. Beyond the novelty, the gasket-mount design and pre-lubed linear switches offer a genuinely superior typing feel and sound, dampening vibrations for a quieter, more satisfying keystroke.
It’s a keyboard that caters to both form and function, blending high-performance mechanics with a personalized aesthetic. The 'Black Kanagawa' theme adds a touch of artistry, while the hot-swappable PCB means you can easily swap switches to fine-tune your typing experience. The software customization extends to macros and RGB lighting, allowing for deep personalization that goes beyond just looks.
What makes it stand out
- Integrates a customizable color multimedia display screen for GIFs and real-time stats, unlike standard keyboards that only offer static backlighting.
- Features a gasket-mount design for a softer, more cushioned typing feel and improved acoustics, differentiating it from many tray-mount mechanical keyboards.
- Offers a 'Black Kanagawa' themed aesthetic with Cherry profile keycaps, providing a distinct artistic style not commonly found on performance-oriented keyboards.
- Hot-swappable PCB allows for easy switch replacement without soldering, offering greater customization potential than keyboards with soldered switches.
When this isn't the right fit
- If you prefer a minimalist aesthetic or don't plan on customizing your keyboard's display or lighting, the unique visual features might be overkill.
- While the gasket mount offers a premium feel, some users might prefer a stiffer typing experience found in tray-mount keyboards.
Real-world notes
- The integrated GIF display can be a fun distraction, but it also means there's one more element to manage and potentially troubleshoot.
- Owners often find themselves spending more time than expected tweaking the GIF display and RGB settings to achieve their perfect setup.
- The south-facing LEDs are designed to avoid interference with Cherry profile keycaps, but it's worth noting for those with specific keycap preferences.
Consider this keyboard if you're looking for a mechanical option that's both highly adaptable and makes a strong visual statement.
