Our read on this product
If your cat seems determined to redecorate your carpets with their claws, this protector offers a straightforward solution. It's made from durable PVC plastic, designed to withstand scratching and provide a physical barrier. The widened design means you can cut it to fit your specific needs, whether that's a full entryway or just a targeted spot.
Beyond just preventing scratches, the textured surface and rugged backing help keep the mat in place, so it won't slide around. This means it stays put to do its job, protecting your carpet from both destructive pet behavior and general wear and tear. While it arrives rolled, a simple flattening process, detailed in the manual, prepares it for use.
What makes it stand out
- Offers a customizable shape, unlike pre-formed mats that may not fit your exact space.
- Features a non-slip backing, ensuring it stays in place better than mats without this feature.
When this isn't the right fit
- This mat is specifically designed to deter cats from scratching carpets and may not be suitable for other types of pet damage or other uses.
- The mat arrives rolled for shipping and will require flattening before it can be used effectively.
Real-world notes
- The textured surface and backing are designed to prevent the mat from slipping, offering stability during use.
- It can be cut to size, allowing for a customized fit around doorways or specific areas prone to scratching.
Consider this if you need a practical, customizable barrier against cat scratching.
