This St. John
s Wort seed packet offers gardeners the chance to cultivate a beautiful and useful US native plant. It thrives in zones 3-6, reaching up to 60 inches tall with vibrant yellow flowers that bloom around the summer solstice. Beyond its ornamental appeal, it provides a source for the well-known medicinal herb, making it a valuable addition to both a flower garden and an herb garden.
What makes it stand out
- Provides a US native perennial that offers both ornamental beauty with tall yellow flowers and traditional medicinal use, unlike annuals or non-native alternatives.
- Thrives in USDA zones 3-6, offering long-term garden value as a perennial that reseeds and spreads by rhizomes.
When this isn't the right fit
- Requires full sun to part sun and rich, well-drained, moist soil, and does not tolerate drought well.
