Our read on this product
This soundbar is designed to significantly upgrade your home audio, especially if you're looking to get into Dolby Atmos without a full surround system. It pulls double duty, offering an immersive soundstage for movies and TV, and then seamlessly switching to music streaming when the TV's off. The Sonos ecosystem makes it easy to integrate with other speakers for multiroom audio or to build out a more robust home theater setup later on.
While it offers a big sound for its compact size, and the Dolby Atmos is genuinely impressive for creating a sense of space, it's worth noting that the port selection is limited. You'll likely need to ensure your TV or streaming device can handle audio passthrough via HDMI eARC, as there isn't an optical input. This means if you have older devices, you might need an adapter or a different solution.
What makes it stand out
- It supports Dolby Atmos for a 3D sound experience, which many entry-level soundbars lack.
- Integrates seamlessly into the Sonos ecosystem for multiroom audio and easy expansion.
- Offers built-in voice assistants (Alexa and Google Assistant) for hands-free control.
- Compact design fits easily under most TVs without dominating the space.
When this isn't the right fit
- You have older TVs without HDMI ARC/eARC support.
- You prefer physical controls directly on the soundbar rather than app or voice control.
Real-world notes
- The Dolby Atmos effect creates a noticeable sense of height and space in the soundstage.
- It integrates so smoothly with other Sonos speakers that expanding your system feels effortless.
- You'll find yourself using the voice control more than anticipated for both music and smart home tasks.
- The app provides a central hub for managing all your music services and speaker settings.
A confident pick for enhancing your living room entertainment with immersive sound and smart features.
