What we've verified about this price
Our read on this product
This collapsible cover quietly solves the everyday frustration of microwave messes. Its clever design flattens to about an inch thick, tucking away neatly without adding clutter to your kitchen drawers or cabinets. You'll likely find yourself reaching for it more often than expected, not just to prevent splatters but also to keep leftovers warm.
Beyond its primary function, this cover offers a surprising secondary use as a strainer. It’s a small detail, but it means one less gadget to wash and store, particularly useful when prepping fruits or vegetables. The perforations allow steam to escape during cooking, preventing sogginess, and the built-in handle makes it easy to lift even when hot.
What makes it stand out
- Its ability to collapse to about an inch thick offers significant space savings compared to rigid covers.
- Doubles as a strainer, a feature not typically found in standard microwave splatter covers.
- The built-in handle provides a safer and more convenient way to remove the cover from a hot microwave.
When this isn't the right fit
- It's designed for smaller plates and bowls, so it won't fit over larger dinner plates.
- The food-grade PP plastic construction, while safe, may not offer the premium feel some shoppers seek.
Real-world notes
- The compact, foldable design makes storage exceptionally easy, especially in tight spaces.
- It effectively contains splatters, keeping the microwave interior clean with minimal effort.
- The dual-use as a strainer is a practical, unexpected benefit for quick food prep.
A confident pick for anyone looking to simplify microwave cleanup and save space.
