Our read on this product
When you're pushing the limits on challenging trails, predictable traction is paramount. The Assegai's aggressive tread pattern is designed to bite into loose terrain and maintain composure during hard cornering, giving you the confidence to descend faster and ride with more control.
This tire is built to handle the demands of serious mountain biking, offering a blend of grip and durability that stands up to tough conditions. Its construction aims to reduce the worry of flats, letting you focus on the ride ahead.
What makes it stand out
- The unique tread design offers tenacious grip at any lean angle, unlike tires with less aggressive or more uniform patterns.
- The 3C MaxxTerra compound provides a balance of traction and treadwear suitable for varied aggressive riding, differentiating it from compounds optimized solely for speed or extreme durability.
When this isn't the right fit
- This tire is designed for aggressive off-road use and may feel sluggish or overkill for casual riding or commuting.
- While EXO protection adds durability, it is intended for light trail duty and may not suffice for the most extreme downhill applications without additional rim protection.
Real-world notes
- Owners frequently praise the tire's predictable grip, especially in corners and during descents.
- The EXO sidewall protection offers a good degree of resistance to cuts and abrasions on typical trails.
Consider this tire when your priority is unwavering grip on aggressive off-road descents.
