Our read on this product
You can snap this on the moment you sit down in a crowded cafe or airport lounge and pull it off just as quickly when you are back in a private space. Because it uses magnets rather than adhesive strips, you avoid the sticky residue and permanent film bubbles that usually make screen protectors a one-time, regretful installation.
The privacy filter narrows your viewing angle significantly, meaning the person sitting next to you on a train sees nothing but a dark screen. Beyond the security, the matte finish cuts down on harsh overhead glare, which is a noticeable relief if you spend your day working under fluorescent office lighting.
What makes it stand out
- Magnetic attachment eliminates the need for messy adhesives that degrade or leave residue on the screen bezel.
- Integrated blue light and glare reduction provide a tangible benefit for eye comfort beyond just privacy.
When this isn't the right fit
- You rarely take your laptop outside of a private home or office.
- You require absolute color accuracy for professional photo or video editing, as the matte finish and filter will slightly alter screen clarity.
- You are using a MacBook model other than the specific 13.6-inch versions listed.
Real-world notes
- The laptop lid may have a tiny gap when closed, which is expected with a magnetic attachment.
- The matte finish significantly reduces fingerprints and glare compared to the standard glossy display.
- Attaching the screen is intuitive and takes only a few seconds once you align the magnets.
Makes sense if you frequently work in public and want a privacy solution that you can remove entirely when you are back at your desk.
