Our read on this product
Keeping an older phone in service often feels like a balancing act between protecting it and letting it become a bulky, unrecognizable brick. This case avoids that trade-off by sticking to a slim profile that mimics the original feel of the device, rather than turning it into a ruggedized piece of equipment.
The internal flocking layer is a detail that genuinely changes the ownership experience, as it prevents the fine grit that usually gets trapped between the case and the phone from scratching the back of the device. By including a dedicated, fully covered camera window, it removes the anxiety of setting your phone down on rough surfaces, which is a common point of failure for this specific model line.
What makes it stand out
- Includes a fully covered camera window, which is rarely found on standard slim cases for older iPhone models.
- Internal flocking layer prevents the micro-scratches that often occur when dust gets trapped inside a case.
When this isn't the right fit
- You prefer a hard, rigid plastic shell over a soft, silicone-feel finish.
- You are looking for heavy-duty, military-grade drop protection for extreme environments.
Real-world notes
- The matte finish provides a noticeable increase in grip compared to the naked glass and aluminum back of the phone.
- Raised lips around the screen and camera lens provide just enough clearance to keep those surfaces off flat tables.
- The slim design means it slides into tight pockets or small bags without catching or adding significant weight.
Choose this if you want to keep your legacy iPhone feeling slim and pocketable while finally giving the camera lens the protection it lacks.
