Our read on this product
Moving away from disposables is less about the environmental impact and more about the daily friction of constantly buying and throwing away flimsy pads. These stay put on hardwood or tile, meaning you aren't constantly realigning them after your dog walks over the area. Because they have a bit of weight and a non-slip backing, they feel more like a permanent piece of home furniture than a temporary patch.
You will likely find yourself using these for things other than just training, like lining a crate for a long car ride or protecting a specific spot on the sofa. Since they are machine washable, they become a standard part of your laundry rotation rather than another item on the grocery list. Just keep two on hand so you always have a clean one ready while the other is in the wash.
When this isn't the right fit
- You prefer the convenience of tossing a soiled pad directly into the trash without needing to run a wash cycle.
- You have a dog that is a dedicated chewer and might treat a fabric mat as a toy rather than a bathroom station.
Real-world notes
- The non-slip backing keeps the pad from sliding across smooth floors during a puppy's zoomies.
- They hold up surprisingly well in the washing machine without losing their waterproof integrity.
- The fleece surface feels much more like a comfortable blanket than the crinkly, plastic-heavy feel of disposables.
Switch to these if you are tired of the daily waste and shifting mess that comes with disposable puppy pads.
