Our read on this product
The included Smart Tx transmitter is the real story here, turning these headphones into a universal audio hub. It means you can finally use Bluetooth on planes or connect to any audio source without fiddling with adapters. This opens up a world of wireless convenience, especially for frequent travelers who are tired of tangled wires or limited connectivity options. It’s not just about listening; it’s about connecting to your audio in more places, more easily.
Beyond the connectivity, the audio itself is designed for immersion. You get high-fidelity sound with JBL's Pro Sound tuning, plus advanced noise cancellation that adapts to your surroundings in real-time. If you're looking to block out distractions on a commute or in a busy office, these should do the trick. The spatial audio with head tracking adds another layer for movies or games, making the sound feel like it’s all around you.
What makes it stand out
- Includes a dedicated transmitter for universal Bluetooth connectivity, unlike headphones that rely solely on device Bluetooth.
- Offers Auracast audio sharing, allowing you to stream to multiple compatible devices simultaneously.
- Features adaptive beamforming microphones for clearer calls, a step up from standard headphone mics.
- Provides JBL Spatial 360 sound with head tracking for a more immersive audio experience in movies and games.
When this isn't the right fit
- If you primarily listen to audio at home and already have reliable Bluetooth headphones, the unique transmitter might be overkill.
- The touch screen controls are on the transmitter, not the headphones themselves, which can be an extra step for quick adjustments.
Real-world notes
- The ability to share audio with other Auracast-enabled devices is a neat trick for listening with a friend.
- Smart Talk automatically pausing your music when you speak is surprisingly useful for quick conversations without interrupting your flow.
Consider these if seamless connectivity to any audio source is your top priority, especially for travel.
