Our read on this product
This speaker is designed to be your constant companion for outdoor adventures, travel, or just everyday commutes. Its standout feature is the redesigned carabiner, which offers a wider opening for more secure and versatile attachment to backpacks, belts, or bikes, ensuring your music is always within reach without being cumbersome. The IP67 waterproof and dustproof rating means you can confidently take it to the beach, poolside, or on a dusty trail without worry.
While its compact size delivers surprisingly robust JBL Pro Sound with punchy bass, the real benefit is the peace of mind that comes with its durability and portability. The 12-hour battery life, extendable with Playtime Boost, means it'll likely outlast your longest outings. Plus, the option to connect multiple Auracast-enabled speakers opens up possibilities for larger gatherings, though for truly immersive stereo sound, pairing two Clip 5s is the most straightforward route.
What makes it stand out
- Features a redesigned, wider carabiner for more versatile and secure attachment than speakers with simple loops or no attachment points.
- Offers IP67 waterproofing and dustproofing, making it more resilient for outdoor use than many non-ruggedized portable speakers.
- Includes Auracast connectivity for multi-speaker pairing, a feature not commonly found on basic portable Bluetooth speakers.
When this isn't the right fit
- You need a speaker for critical listening or room-filling sound.
- You prefer a speaker with extensive onboard controls or a visual display.
Real-world notes
- The carabiner is surprisingly useful for attaching to more than just a bag.
- Sound quality punches well above its weight class for such a small device.
- Battery life easily gets through a full day of intermittent use.
- It survives accidental drops and splashes without issue.
A confident pick for anyone prioritizing rugged portability and dependable sound on the go.
