Our read on this product
Giving these out at a birthday party or classroom event solves the problem of finding an activity that is instantly engaging without requiring any instructions or setup. Because the UV light is built directly into the cap, children can switch between writing and revealing their messages in seconds, keeping the momentum of their spy games going without frustration.
You will likely find that these end up being used for everything from elaborate treasure hunts to simple notes left on bedroom doors. Since they come in a large pack, you do not have to worry about one getting lost or running out of ink halfway through an afternoon, making them a low-stakes way to keep a group of kids occupied.
What makes it stand out
- Includes 28 individual pens, which covers an entire classroom or large party guest list in a single purchase.
- Integrated UV light in the cap eliminates the need for carrying a separate, easily lost light source.
When this isn't the right fit
- You are looking for a high-quality writing instrument, as these are intended for play rather than standard schoolwork.
- The children involved are under three years old, as the small caps and batteries present a choking hazard.
Real-world notes
- The pull tab on each pen effectively preserves battery life until the moment they are handed out.
- The ink is washable, which helps when the secret messages inevitably end up on surfaces other than paper.
- The pens are lightweight, making them easy for smaller hands to grip during long periods of writing.
Grab a pack if you need a reliable, screen-free activity that works just as well for party favors as it does for daily creative play.
