Our read on this product
This DEWALT drill delivers significant power, boasting 40% more UWO than previous models, making short work of tough construction materials. Its high-speed transmission with variable speed settings offers precise control for both drilling and fastening tasks.
What truly sets this drill apart is its compact design, a full half-inch shorter than its predecessor. This makes it exceptionally maneuverable in confined areas, reducing user fatigue and improving accessibility where larger tools simply won't fit. The metal ratcheting chuck ensures bits stay securely in place, and the integrated LED spotlight with a 20-minute auto-off function illuminates your work area, even in dimly lit conditions.
What makes it stand out
- Offers 40% more UWO than previous DEWALT models, providing a tangible power upgrade for demanding applications.
- Its 1/2-inch shorter length compared to prior models significantly improves access and maneuverability in tight work areas.
When this isn't the right fit
- This is a bare tool and requires batteries and a charger, sold separately.
- Not intended for light-duty home use where minimal power is sufficient.
Real-world notes
- The metal ratcheting chuck provides excellent bit retention, reducing the frustration of bits slipping during use.
- The LED spotlight is a thoughtful addition, especially for overhead work or in poorly lit corners, though its 20-minute auto-off means you might need to reactivate it for extended tasks.
For professionals and serious DIYers, this drill is a powerful and accessible workhorse.
