Our read on this product
This Denon receiver is the kind of upgrade that quietly makes your entire home entertainment system feel more capable. It’s not just about louder sound; it’s about bringing modern video standards like 8K passthrough and seamless wireless streaming into your setup, which can be a real headache to manage with older equipment. The built-in HEOS system is a notable convenience for anyone looking to expand audio beyond a single room without adding extra boxes.
While it offers a robust 5.2 channel setup for solid surround sound, the real benefit here is how it integrates everything. You’ll likely find yourself reaching for it more often because switching between your game console, Blu-ray player, and streaming apps becomes fluid, rather than a chore. It’s designed to be the central nervous system of your home theater, simplifying complex setups and ensuring your audio keeps pace with your video.
What makes it stand out

- Your current receiver already supports 8K video and advanced multi-room audio.
Real-world notes
- The seamless integration of HEOS for multi-room audio is a pleasant surprise that simplifies whole-house sound.
- Switching between multiple HDMI sources feels noticeably quicker and more reliable than with older receivers.
