Our read on this product
The PlayStation Portal is a large, awkward device to pack, and its expansive screen is a magnet for scratches if tossed into a bag unprotected. This case removes that anxiety by providing a rigid, custom-molded cradle that keeps the console from shifting during transit. It turns a fragile piece of home gear into something you can actually throw in a backpack without second-guessing.
Beyond the structural shell, the inclusion of a dedicated microfiber screen cover is the detail that justifies the purchase. It creates a soft barrier between the screen and the internal accessory pocket, preventing your charging cables or earbuds from marring the display while everything is compressed in your bag. It is a simple, effective way to keep your setup organized and scratch-free.
What makes it stand out
- Includes a dedicated microfiber screen cover to prevent accessory-to-screen contact.
- Custom-molded interior specifically accounts for the Portal's unique, wide-wing controller shape.
When this isn't the right fit
- You need a case that also accommodates a bulky protective grip or silicone skin on the console.
- You are looking for a slim sleeve rather than a full-sized hardshell carrier.
Real-world notes
- The internal elasticated pocket keeps small items like earbuds from rattling around against the console.
- The rubberized handle feels secure and makes it easy to grab the case out of a larger bag.
- The molded interior is tight enough that the device does not slide around when the case is closed.
Pick this up if you want to stop worrying about your Portal's screen every time you leave the house.
