Our read on this product
This Canon MegaTank printer quietly solves the perennial frustration of running out of ink at the worst possible moment, especially if you’re printing a lot for a small business or home office. The sheer volume of pages you get from a single set of inks is the headline feature, meaning fewer trips to the store and less money spent on cartridges over time. It’s designed to keep you productive without the constant worry of ink levels.
Beyond the cost savings, the convenience of auto-duplexing and a touchscreen display makes daily tasks feel less like a chore. It’s the kind of printer that just works, handling double-sided documents automatically and making navigation straightforward. This attention to everyday usability means it integrates smoothly into a busy workflow, whether you're printing reports, invoices, or even the occasional poster.
What makes it stand out
- Offers significantly lower cost-per-page printing compared to traditional cartridge-based all-in-one printers.
- Includes auto-duplexing for effortless double-sided printing, a feature often found on more expensive office models.
- Features a touchscreen display for easier navigation and control, which isn't standard on all entry-level printers.
- Supports dual-band Wi-Fi for a more stable and reliable wireless connection.
When this isn't the right fit
- You primarily need to print photos with professional-grade color accuracy.
- Your print volume is very low, making the high-yield ink tanks less of an advantage.
Real-world notes
- The initial ink fill process is a bit more involved than swapping cartridges, but it's a one-time setup for thousands of pages.
- The compact design is surprisingly space-saving for an all-in-one with this kind of ink capacity.
