Our read on this product
This DIY kit offers a straightforward way to capture those fleeting early moments. The air-dry clay means no oven time or complicated steps, and it dries to a durable finish that resists cracking, unlike some other clay options. It’s designed to be simple enough for one person to manage a wiggly baby, providing a lasting memento without the fuss.
Beyond just a keepsake, this kit acts as a quiet fix for the parental anxiety that little ones grow too fast. It includes everything needed for two ornaments, complete with personalization tools for adding names or dates, ensuring a professional and sentimental finish. The inclusion of bonus stencils and display stands adds a thoughtful touch, elevating it beyond a simple craft project into a ready-to-display treasure.
What makes it stand out
- The air-dry clay avoids the need for baking, simplifying the process compared to kits requiring an oven.
- It provides enough material for two ornaments, allowing for multiple children, pets, or a hand and foot pair, unlike single-use kits.
- Bonus stencils and display stands are included, offering a more complete presentation than kits that require separate purchases for display.
When this isn't the right fit
- The kit is designed for air-drying clay, which may not achieve the hardened, ceramic-like finish some expect from baked clay.
- While it includes tools for personalization, achieving perfectly formed letters and numbers with a wiggly baby can be a challenge.
Real-world notes
- The air-dry clay is noted for its durability and resistance to cracking after drying.
- Owners appreciate the completeness of the kit, which includes everything needed to make two ornaments.
- The included personalization tools with letters and numbers are a helpful addition for customizing the keepsake.
This kit is a confident pick for preserving a baby's first year in a tangible way.
