What we've verified about this price
Our read on this product
This set removes the guesswork and the extra shopping trips for anyone wanting to pick up pickleball. It includes four paddles, four balls, and even cooling towels, all bundled together so you can get a game going right away.
The paddles themselves are made from a durable 9-ply poplar hardwood, which is a step up from the more common 7-ply wood. This construction, combined with a wide-body design, offers a good balance of power and control, making it forgiving for beginners while still allowing for precise shots.
What makes it stand out
- Bundles all necessary accessories for four players, including cooling towels, eliminating the need for separate purchases.
- Features 9-ply poplar hardwood paddles, offering greater durability than typical 7-ply wood models found in similar starter sets.
When this isn't the right fit
- The paddle grip, while ergonomic, is made of soft material which may show wear faster than harder grip materials over time.
- While suitable for beginners, serious players may eventually seek lighter, more advanced composite paddles.
Real-world notes
- The wide-body paddle design makes it easier to connect with the ball, which is a forgiving feature for those new to the sport.
- The included carrying bag makes storage and transport simple, encouraging spontaneous games.
