Our read on this product
When you’re out on the trail, the last thing you want to worry about is your footing. This shoe is designed to give you that confidence, featuring Altra’s roomy FootShape fit that allows your toes to splay naturally, enhancing stability and comfort on uneven terrain.
The Vibram Megagrip outsole provides exceptional traction on both wet and dry surfaces, meaning you can push your pace without fear of slipping. Plus, the unique GaiterTrap system keeps debris out, so you can focus on the run ahead.
What makes it stand out
- The Vibram Megagrip outsole offers unparalleled traction on both wet and dry surfaces, setting it apart from shoes with less specialized rubber.
- Altra’s signature FootShape fit provides a uniquely roomy toe box, allowing for natural toe splay that enhances stability and comfort on technical terrain, unlike more constrictive fits.
- The integrated GaiterTrap system offers a convenient and secure way to attach gaiters, preventing trail debris from entering the shoe without the need for additional fasteners.
When this isn't the right fit
- This shoe is specifically designed for trail running and may not offer the best experience for casual walking or road running due to its aggressive tread and fit.
Real-world notes
- Owners appreciate the natural toe splay provided by the FootShape fit, which contributes to comfort during long runs.
- The high-traction Vibram Megagrip is frequently cited as a key benefit for maintaining grip on varied trail conditions.
Choose this shoe when your priority is maximum grip and protection on any trail.
